2021 World Refugee Day Fund

World Refugee Day, recognized annually on June 20, was established by the United Nations to celebrate and honor refugees around the world. According to the UN, every minute, 20 people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. More than 80 million people around the world have fled their homes, which is just the beginning of a long and difficult journey, often involving refugee camps, abrupt relocations, family separation, and unnavigable bureaucratic processes. The theme for 2021 is “together we heal, learn, and shine.” The shared experience of COVID-19 has shown us that we only succeed if we stand together. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations working for and on behalf of refugees around the world. Join us in shining a light on the rights, needs and dreams of refugees so that everyone can not only survive, but also thrive. Hashtags: #WithRefugees #WorldRefugeeDay2021 #RefugeesWelcome *Fun fact: The first-ever Refugee Team competed at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera)

Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Lebanon and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate emergency relief and for sustainable, long-term health, education, and economic development. Our staff serve in their communities, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most. That’s how Anera delivered 98.3 million in programs in 2020 alone, and it’s how we will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.

Together with children, families and communities, as well as supporters the world over, we achieve lasting results for millions of children. With over 100 years of expertise, we are the worlds first and leading independent children's organization transforming lives and the future we share.

Alight exists to walk alongside those who – by sheer circumstance – find themselves on the long and arduous journey of displacement. Each year Alight serves 3.5 million people in over 20 countries who have been displaced by climate, conflict, and social and economic exclusion. We listen closely to their voices, gathering insights that allow us to provide innovative human-centered services and programs. By co-creating alongside displaced people we can ensure that we are meeting their needs and moving beyond necessities to build lives that are full of joy, connection, and purpose.
